Department of Education Required Licensure Disclosure Information

Graduates of the UCCS Master of Sciences in Nutrition and Dietetics (Future Education Model Graduate Program) who successfully complete all degree and supervised experiential learning requirements are eligible to apply to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians and pursue the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.

Information regarding state licensure laws and statutes can be found on the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Licensure Map and Statutes page

Colorado does not currently require state licensure for dietitians or nutritionists. However, graduates who plan to practice in another state must meet that state’s specific licensure or certification requirements.

Successful completion of the UCCS program does not guarantee state licensure. State licensure is required for practice in states that regulate the profession.
