About the Human Physiology & Nutrition - Pharmacy Preparation (3+4) Option

The Pharmacy Preparation option is offered in partnership with the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Anschutz Medical Campus.  Students will attend UCCS for three years in the in the human physiology and nutrition program before attending to CU Pharmacy for four years. Qualified students who are admitted to the Pharm D. program will receive a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Human Physiology and Nutrition from UCCS after their first year at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and a Pharm. D. from CU School of Pharmacy upon completion of the program. 

Focus of Study

The Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology and Nutrition - Pharmacy Preparation (3+4) Program is designed for students pursuing advanced degrees in pharmacy. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in human health while meeting the prerequisite coursework needed to apply to a PharmD program.

Program Requirements

  • Meet with UCCS advisor 1-2 times a semester
  • Meet with CU pharmacy school advisor 1-2 times a semester
  • SSPPS student mentor
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA and fulfill other program requirements
  • Hands on activities
