About The Program
This program is intended for Exercise Science majors who desire to become professional strength and conditioning coaches, who help prepare and enhance the performance of a high school, college, professional, occupational, tactical, or recreational athlete.
As part of the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Education Recognition Program, the curriculum prepares students to sit for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam upon graduation.
Students take foundational classes in anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, and physics during the first two years, then hone their knowledge in exercise science and apply it to the practice of strength and conditioning in the final two years. The program is enhanced by optional opportunities for internships with athletic and military institutions in the Colorado Springs area.
Focus of Study
The Strength and Conditioning option is intended for students who desire to become professional strength and conditioning coaches.
