Grand Rounds at the UCCS Hybl Center is a recurring educational lecture series that brings together researchers, clinicians, faculty, students, and healthcare professionals to explore the latest advancements in healthcare, research, and clinical practice. Designed to promote interprofessional education and collaboration, Grand Rounds provides a forum for sharing innovative research, discussing evidence-based practices, and fostering meaningful conversations across disciplines. By connecting experts from diverse fields, the series strengthens partnerships, encourages lifelong learning, and advances excellence in healthcare education, research, and patient care.

Considerations for the female athlete: interactions between performance and the menstrual cycle
Presented by Marissa Baranauskas, PhD, this presentation overviewed factors relevant to coaches or practitioners designing exercise training programs for female athletes specific to the menstrual cycle. Additionally, the consequences of behaviors associated with high-level exercise training on ovarian hormone health, such as increasing exercise intensity/ volume and managing energy availability will be covered.
GLP-1 Therapies in Practice: An Interprofessional Perspective
We were joined by an interprofessional panel of providers including a physician, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, and registered dietitian, as they break down the science, patient experience, and real-world strategies for supporting individuals across the continuum of care.
Skratch Labs
Taylor Brower, RD joined us from Skratch Labs in Boulder to present on how fueling with real food and evidence-based strategies can enhance endurance, optimize recovery, and support sustainable performance for athletes at all levels.
USOPC Sports Medicine Research Program
Eric Post, Ph.D., Manager of Sports Medicine at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC). Post presented “From Surveillance to Solutions: The USOPC Sports Medicine Research Program,” sharing insights into the organization’s ongoing research efforts and their real-world applications.
