Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science - Strength & Conditioning Option
This program is intended for Exercise Science majors who desire to become professional strength and conditioning coaches, who help prepare and enhance the performance of high school, college, professional, occupational, tactical or recreational athletes. As part of the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Education Recognition Program, the curriculum prepares students to sit for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam upon graduation. Students take foundational classes in anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, and physics during the first two years, then hone their knowledge in exercise science and apply it to the practice of strength and conditioning in the final two years. The program is enhanced by optional opportunities for internships with athletic and military institutions in the Colorado Springs area.
