Professional Mentorship Program
About the Program
The Nursing and Health Sciences Professional Mentorship Program connects students with experienced alumni and industry professionals to support their academic and career growth. Each student is thoughtfully matched with a mentor based on shared interests, career goals, and professional aspirations. Through this one-on-one connection, students gain valuable insight into their chosen field, receive guidance on resumes and interviews, and build meaningful professional relationships that can open doors to future opportunities.
Student Expectations
The Professional Mentorship Program is designed to support your career exploration by pairing you with an experienced mentor in your field of interest. This program is an opportunity to gain clarity on your career goals and receive insider advice on resume writing, interview preparation, and networking.
As a student participant, you play a key role in the success of your mentorship experience. This is a student-led initiative, which means:
- You are responsible for initiating and maintaining communication with your mentor.
- You must prioritize scheduling and attending your monthly meetings.
- You should come prepared, be respectful of your mentor’s time, and approach each conversation with professionalism.
Your mentor is a working professional volunteering their time to support your growth—make the most of this experience by being engaged, organized, and appreciative.
