About the Health Care Sciences - Radiologic Technologist Program

The Radiologic Technologist degree program at UCCS follows a 2+2 structure, leading to a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Science and eligibility to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam.

Students spend the first two years at UCCS, completing 67 credit hours of foundational coursework in health sciences. The final two years are completed through the UCHealth School of Radiologic Technology, where students gain 60 credit hours of hands-on, hospital-based clinical training.

Focus of Study

The Health Care Science - Radiologic Technologist degree program prepare students for careers in medical imaging. The curriculum integrates rigorous classroom instruction with extensive hands-on clinical training in a hospital setting. 

Students gain expertise in radiographic positioning, radiation safety, patient care, and advanced imaging techniques. The program emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional development to ensure graduates are well-equipped to meet the demands of modern healthcare.

Admission Criteria for Students Applying as Freshmen

  • GPA of 2.0 or better

Freshmen applicants whose records vary in any way from the above admissions criteria will be considered on an individual basis by evaluation of their overall academic records including:

(a) The quality of their high school program of study

(b) The level of their college entrance test scores (SAT or ACT)

(c) Any information unique to an individual situation
