Graduate Assistants

A variety of non-teaching assistantships are available on a variable basis depending on program funding and faculty grant funding from year to year. Please feel free to contact Dr. Jess Kirby (jkirby@uccs.edu) to discuss opportunities.

Examples of previous assistantships:

  • Interprofessional Education Scholar – work with an interprofessional team of graduate students and faculty to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate interprofessional based programs offered through the HealthCircle Center for Active Living, Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Building, and other university-community based collaborations.
  • Research Assistantships – research assistants are available at times when faculty have active research grant funding
  • Happiness/Resilience Program Lead – worked to develop and implement resilience-building educational curriculum for Residence Hall Assistants based on research in the field of positive psychology
  • Campus Recreation & Wellness  UCCS is leading the way in collegiate wellness by bringing Campus Recreation, the Student Health Center, and the University Counseling Center together in the expanded Recreation and Wellness Center. This model of innovative and integrated thinking creates the opportunity for joint programming related to students' physical and mental health, nutrition and exercise. Contact Katie Gordon (kgordon4@uccs.edu) for information on opportunities to work or volunteer.

Teaching Assistants

Limited teaching assistant positions are available through the Health Sciences Department for current students. Applying for assistantships is not part of the online application process. Admitted students will receive information about how to apply for assistantships as these opportunities become available.
