The College Publication Incentive

Johnson Beth-El (JBE) is committed to creating and disseminating innovative research, scholarship, and creative work that helps guide practice within the healthcare, human performance, and teaching fields. The financial support provided by this program (up to $600 each fiscal year per faculty/staff*) is intended to help foster this research and the development of scholarly knowledge. Funding is subject to availability.

Eligibility

All faculty/staff (≥0.5 FTE) who are listed as an author (sole or joint) on an article published, or in press, in a national/international level refereed journal or have a chapter or book published within the last 60 days are eligible. Articles may not be eligible if published in predatory journals that publish without a significant peer review process. 


Award

The JBE Publication Incentive will be used to supplement the continued research of faculty/staff.

These funds must be used for research related expenses, such as conference travel, research equipment, research assistant salary, participant incentives. These funds cannot be used for faculty/staff salary. The following is a breakdown of award amounts.

  • First/sole author: $400
  • Primary advisor for a UCCS student first author: $400
  • Co-author: $200

Funding must be used within one year (12 months) of receiving the award.


Application

Applications must be submitted within 60 days of the date of publication or acceptance of paper if in press. Faculty/staff must provide an electronic copy of the published work, in press submissions must include the accepted journal version and a copy of the journal’s email of acceptanceApplications must be submitted within 60 days of the date of publication or acceptance of paper if in press. Award Distribution

The JBE Publication Incentive will be used to supplement the continued research of faculty/staff.

All related award purchases must be submitted via Cherwell. Once the funds are depleted each year no further awards will be available until the next fiscal year. These funds must be used for research related expenses, such as conference travel, research equipment, research assistant salary, participant incentives.
